China Foreign Trade Center released information on the 4th, the 136th Canton Fair, a total of 253,000 foreign buyers to the meeting, for the first time exceeded 250,000 people, a record high. The head of the multinational purchasing enterprises for the first time exceeded 300, up to 308.
As of November 3, the 136th Canton Fair had a total of 253,000 overseas buyers from 214 countries and regions, an increase of 2.8% over the previous session. Among them, the proportion of buyers from the “Belt and Road” countries accounted for more than 60%, totaling 165,000, an increase of 3.7%; the number of buyers from the Middle East countries grew the fastest, amounting to 34,000, an increase of 32.6%; European and American buyers rebounded significantly, with the attendance of 54,000, an increase of 8.2%.
Zhou Shanqing, director of the Canton Fair News Center and deputy director of China Foreign Trade Center, introduced that the intended export turnover of this year's Canton Fair was 24.95 billion U.S. dollars, an increase over the previous session. The turnover of “Belt and Road” countries accounted for more than half of the total, and the turnover of traditional markets in Europe and the United States realized growth. “The current session of the overseas buyers to the meeting procurement goals clear, strong willingness to cooperate, follow-up through the field inspection of factories, in-depth docking is expected to reach more transactions.”
A total of 730 enterprises from 49 countries and regions participated in the import exhibition of this year's Canton Fair, of which 65.5% were enterprises from the “Belt and Road” countries and 33% were enterprises from RCEP member countries. Enterprises from Russia, Malaysia, Vietnam and other pavilions reached intentional cooperation with Chinese enterprises. Turkey, South Korea, Egypt and other pavilions will continue to organize groups to participate in the next session.
